Selective Mutism is an anxiety disorder in which a person who is otherwise capable of speech becomes unable to speak when exposed to specific situations, places or people. The film dives into the world of a character with a history of trauma, unfolding scenes that oscillate between reality and imagination, ultimately representing her inner reality as a stream of consciousness. Through the voice-over, the dreamlike sequence takes the viewer on a journey of struggle, peace, ferocity, silence and the ache for self-acceptance. Can a sense of belonging be realized or is it only a dream? Am Ready Not
Video Installation, 02.24, Color A video installation by Stathis Roukas & Zoey Lee for the group exhibition 'FORGET FEAR' at Alte Münze Berlin. "Our fears are waiting for us at the corner. Or have we just imagined them? And even if they are real, are we ready to face them? Or are we not?" *We do not own any of the tracks or any of the footage*
Video Art Installation, 02.08, Color Video/Text - Stathis Roukas Voice - Tara Deacon The video was developed based on a text Stathis Roukas wrote one day. It derives from deep existential questions one should ask him/herself. (or rather not) Questions about the perception of time, repetition, alienation or even loneliness. The use of a post-Christmas tree reincarnates the above as a perfect symbol. Screened at WOLF Kino Berlin.
